Explore Dove Valley Centre and the surrounding Peak District National Park

Under Whitle is an upland farm of 50 acres near Hartington in Derbyshire which we have called our home for 45 years. We established Dove Valley Centre in 2001 when the 18th century barns became available. There is evidence to suggest this land has been farmed since at least the 13th century, we’re just a stone’s throw from the site of the Norman motte and bailey castle of Pilsbury which was built in 1080.

Sarah, Alex and Ian were great hosts, Sarah with pre-visit communications, Alex met us upon arrival and Ian checked in mid-stay. All were friendly, informative and laid back. Their farm is in a stunning, peaceful location on the River Dove and there are beautiful walks from the door, which was perfect for our dog. As we were a big group we rented both the Hayloft and Shippon. Highly recommended.

Two lovely apartments in a peaceful valley. Perfect for a large party of guests and close to villages & walks. Well equipped & very nicely decorated - especially appreciated artwork. The barn with table tennis worked really well for the teenagers.

Lovely comfortable accommodation in a beautiful place. Some people may find it a little remote but we loved it. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. A great place to stay at any time of the year with plenty of walks that you can go on without having to get in the car, but if you prefer more formal outings, there is plenty to see and do nearby.

We loved our weekend stay here. The barn is beautifully converted into two lovely apartments. The bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable and the living facilities were also great. It was all beautifully clean when we arrived and well equipped including providing all those essentials like toilet roll, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid. We also appreciated having a delicious cake waiting for us on arrival plus tea, coffee and milk.

Loved it! A fantastic and well thought out holiday cottage and even the very steep curvy track down to it just adds to the magic. Breath-taking views, tranquillity and great hosts - a definite jewel in the Peak District
